Henderson to Kick Off Black History Month with Annual Gospel Fest

WHAT: In honor of Black History Month, join the City of Henderson for its annual Gospel Fest on Saturday, Feb. 3! The afternoon will feature local pastors and gospel artists with authentic southern and soul food at the Water Street Plaza Amphitheater. 

The free event will feature performances by the following acclaimed artists:

Charles Jenkins
Grammy award-winning Gospel artist, Charles Jenkins, is a renowned leader who has received numerous accolades for his commitment to service. He is also a film executive, fashion executive, and music mogul with eight BMI top songwriter awards, 17 Billboard #1 honors, nine Stellar Awards, a Grammy award and seven Dove Music Award nominations.

Chrystal Rucker
Chrystal Rucker, a renowned singer within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), has been performing at concerts and convocations for the past decade and a half. After suffering a series of strokes in 2007, she re-learned to walk and perform music. EPM Group founder, Earnest Pugh, first saw Rucker sing at Grammy award-winning choirmaster O’Landa Draper’s funeral in the summer of 1998. When Pugh launched his label in 2012, Rucker was among the first names signed to his label. 

Chazn
Chazn is music mogul who has been performing since he was 2 years old. A producer, songwriter and “jack of all trades” who plays multiple instruments, he is heavily involved in all aspects of making music. He focuses on a message of positivity, and has worked with acclaimed people in the industry such as Bryan Lennox and Nicole C. Mullen. 

Local artists set perform include Christopher Williams, Pastor Antone Dotson- Parson, Corey Ellis, Ken Young, Victory Missionary Baptist Church, and Musical Director Minister Joe Pigee.
