Every two years, the City of Henderson commissions a community survey to identify resident priorities, areas of satisfaction and areas they feel need attention. These results are compared to other cities regionally and nationally. The most recent survey was conducted in 2023.

The data collected from these surveys help shape the foundation of the five priorities outlined in the City’s four-year strategic plan: Quality Education, Community Safety, High-Performing Public Service, Economic Vitality, and a Healthy, Livable and Sustainable City.

As a result, the City of Henderson services continue to rank far above national averages, currently sitting 42% higher than other surveyed cities. Results include:

• 93% satisfaction rate with Henderson being a place to live
• 92% satisfaction rate with Henderson being a place to raise a family
• More than 90% satisfaction rate with fire and police services
• More than 90% satisfaction rate with residents feeling safe in their neighborhood
• 91% satisfaction rate with youth recreation programs

The 2023 Henderson Community Survey was performed by ETC Institute, a national leader in market research specializing in local government organizations. The City’s four wards were equally represented in the collected data, with more than 200 surveys completed in each ward.
