FY 2022 Budget

Henderson’s Mayor and Council have approved the City’s budget for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2022. The City’s fiscal year 2022 General Fund expenditures for daily operations are projected to total $295.9 million with about 58% earmarked for public safety, which continues to be a top priority for the City’s vision to be America’s premier community. The City of Henderson fiscal year 2022 budget encompasses 24 governmental type funds and 11 proprietary funds with estimated expenditures totaling $679 million. 

Some highlights of the budget include:

  • 58% of the general funds will go towards public safety including:
    • Construction of a Henderson Police Substation in Inspirada/West Henderson
    • 15 additional police officers
    • A new facility for the Henderson Crime Lab
  • Economic Development & Diversification
    • Development of a new workforce training center to prepare residents and future employees for high-tech jobs available in our City
    • Attract technology and advanced manufacturing companies to Henderson
  • Property Taxes
    • 3-cent increase in property taxes on new development to help pay for the growth in services needed for the new developments
    • The increase will not impact existing residents and businesses
    • Henderson continues to have the lowest property taxes of any major Nevada City
