The Special Programs and Services Section, under the Corrections Division of the Henderson Police Department, was created at the Henderson City Council Meeting on March 7, 2017. The Henderson Police Department officially began oversight of the operations on March 13, 2017. Special Programs and Services operates under Nevada Revised Statues: Chapter 211A.

Special Programs and Services serves as a probation department for probationers that are sentenced by the Henderson Municipal Court to be on a level of supervision, including pre-trial condition of release cases. The sentencing requirements may vary from case to case but will be specified by and on their Court order. Special Programs and Services oversees many programs and classes for supervised individuals and assist them in complying with the orders of the Court.

Vision Statement

The overall goal of Special Programs and Services is to provide an opportunity for misdemeanor offenders to address their sentences through means other than incarceration as long as they remain compliant with their conditions. By doing this, we hope to provide a return of this investment to the community by decreasing recidivism and increasing public safety through the utilization of programs and supervision that target the underlying cause(s) of their criminal activity.
