REGISTRATION & RESOURCES |
All participants of a youth program are required to have a completed set of participation forms.
Youth Participant Form Request
Parent/Guardian is required to complete new forms each school year. Once paperwork has been completed and submitted electronically by the parent/guardian and processed by the Parks and Recreation Department, an annual registration charge of $10 is placed on your City of Henderson account.
All forms are sent and submitted electronically via DocuSign. Parent/guardian will have an opportunity to include an additional parent/guardian if desired. Please note that if an additional household is included, the registration form cannot be processed until both parties have signed and completed all paperwork. Only one registration packet will be accepted per participant.

Early Childhood Education Scholarship Program
Scholarship assistance from the City of Henderson Redevelopment Agency Public Education Set Aside Fund is available to fund 50% of the preschool enrollment costs on a per student, per semester increment.

PRESCHOOL & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS |
ABC ETC.
ABC ETC. is a state-licensed preschool specially designed for children 3-5 years of age and held at Valley View Recreation Center.
Little Learners
Little Learners is a state-licensed, full-day preschool specially designed for children 3-5 years of age and held at Valley View Recreation Center.
ABC ETC. (half day) and Little Learners (full day) run concurrently with the Clark County School District’s 9-month calendar and is closed on school holidays and staff development days. To register any child in the program the age requirements listed below must be met (no exceptions). All participants must be toilet trained.
Qualifications
ABC ETC. and Little Learners preschoolers must be 3 years old no later than the first day of the month you would like them to attend class.
State law requires the following documents to be furnished before the student is allowed to attend class:
- A health statement signed by a physician/RN
- An updated photocopy of an official immunization record
- A completed registration form
- A completed youth participation form
- A copy of the child's birth certificate may be required

Safekey is a before- and after-school recreational enrichment program held at all Henderson elementary schools. This fun-filled program focuses on crafts, games and special activities designed to help your child grow socially, emotionally and physically. Homework time and a snack are included.
Teen Scene is an after-school program at all Henderson public middle/junior high schools. Provided to ensure teens' safety, the program may feature arts and crafts, nutrition, sports, field trips, special events, homework time and a snack.
Safekey & Teen Scene provides milk by way of the USDA Special Milk Program through a grant from the Nevada Department of Education.
Hours
Safekey is offered 6:45am-7:00am to 8:45am-9:00am, and from school dismissal to 6:00pm.
Teen Scene is offered from school dismissal to 6:00pm.
Safekey & Teen Scene follow the Clark County School District calendar and bell times. Program start and end times vary based on individual school bell times. Contact the Youth Enrichment office in advance for more information or to confirm start/end times.
Pricing
Safekey is available at a flat rate per child of $5 for the before-school program. Safekey and Teen Scene after-school program is $9 per child (with exception to Burkholder Middle School, Brown Junior High School, Hinman Elementary School and Robert Taylor Elementary School, which are on a different rate schedule.)
A sibling discount (after the first child) of 10% is available for children from the same immediate family. The city reserves the right to request supporting documentation.
Extended stay is available for parents who are unable to pick up their children by 6:00pm. It is available from 6:00pm-6:30pm for $10 per week, per child. Extended stay payment is due in full on or before the Wednesday prior to each week the child will be attending. If you are not registered for extended stay, a charge is assessed for late pickups at $10 for every 10 minutes, beginning at closing.

The Whitney Hangout
This after-school leadership and recreation program/membership is designed for teen participants. The program follows the CCSD calendar year when school is in session. A monthly membership is required and includes: an after-school snack, leadership workshops, recreation activities (fitness, arts/crafts, dance) and special events. Our goal is to keep participants active, safe, and engaged after school.
Ages 11-18 (6th -12th grade)
2pm-6pm Monday-Friday
$10-$20 per month (depending on program session days)
Girls United
This group meets during the CCSD school year and follows the CCSD calendar year. The mission is to inspire and empower adolescent girls to become positive active citizens of change in themselves as well as their community. Participants will have access to trusting and caring mentors, build powerful life skills through team projects, have access to college and career guidance and much, much more. Participants must be registered for the Whitney Hangout to participate.

Battle Born Kids and Teen Rec Connections
Summer camp registration begins March 5.
Battle Born Kids (kindergarten-fifth grade) and Teen Rec Connections (ages 11-14) entertain and enrich youth with a variety of supervised interactive activities when school is not in session due to holidays and school district unassigned days.
The program is held weekdays from 7:00am to 6:00pm with extended stay options available.
Daily and weekly activities may include fitness and health, arts and crafts, drama, music, swimming, games, field trips and special events.
Programs are fully supervised, offering children a full day of recreational fun while parents enjoy some peace of mind. Should special accommodations be necessary, we are happy to discuss inclusion or specialized programming.
Government-issued ID is required for drop-off and pick up.
Weekly Pricing:
One child $118
Two children $224.40
Three children $330.40
Drop-in days are $27 per day, per child
Register in advance for any week with a 10% non-refundable/non-transferable deposit per child per week. After your deposit is made, the balance is due on or before the Wednesday prior to each week the child is scheduled to participate. Payments can be made online by 11:59pm or at any recreation center/indoor pool during regular business hours.
Early Arrival and Extended Stay
All Battle Born Kids locations offer an early-start and late pick-up option. Participants must be registered on or by the Wednesday prior to the week their child will be attending.

Parent Orientation
Battle Born Kids and Teen Rec Connections will offer a parent orientation virtually.
Open House
Successfully enrolled families can attend the open house at the facility you have registered for Battle Born Kids. During the open house, parents and children will be guided through drop off and pick up procedures, have a meet and greet with staff, and tour the facility. Swim tests will also be available.

Swim Tests
All participants enrolled in Battle Born Kids that would like to swim on the designated swim days are encouraged to complete a swim test prior to the first swim day. Swim tests will be available during Battle Born Kids Open House. Those enrolled in a Henderson Swim Academy swim lesson may qualify as swim fit at the end of class. Swim tests consists of the participant being able to jump in the water, swim half of the pool lane length unassisted (15 yards), turn around, swim back to the wall, and climb out of the pool. Any swimmer who is unable to complete this test independently will be required to wear a lifejacket while at the pool during swim times and will not be permitted to use the slide amenities. Swim tests are designed to keep participants safe, therefore if staff feel the participant is struggling to swim independently, they may be required to retest.
Meals
Lunch will be provided by our food service partner, Three Square. Snacks are not provided. Please provide a healthy lunch, snack, and water bottle for your child every day if they decide not to eat what is provided.

Knight School Chess Academy Camp
The Knight School chess camp is the perfect way to get ready for your school’s official chess team. With a fun and friendly spirit, chess camp is a great way to keep the brain sharp over the summer while having a real blast! Chess camp is a super fun, high energy chess experience in which kids celebrate a new chess tactic each day with silly videos, music driven puzzlers for prizes, colorful silicone Tactix Bands, funny movies, and fast paced party- bead tournament. Laughter, fast clocks, and compelling teaching approaches make this camp the summertime highlight for hundreds of kids” nationwide. If you sign up for the all-day clinic, bring a lunch.

K’NEX Invention Camp
This five-day camp will challenge students on their skills to invent and build with a larger collection of generations of K’NEX parts. These hands- on builder’s camp allows students to develop their mechanical engineering building skills as they build devices made of K’NEX parts like a mini-roller coaster, mini robot, mini machine, mini skyscrapers, mini bridge, or a creation of their imagination. If you sign up for the all-day clinic, bring a lunch.

K’BOTS Robotic Camp
This five-day camp will allow you to experience up to three different division types of robotic K*bots built with K’NEX parts in competition with forces and motion. You will construct and operate your own K’NEX motorized and non-motorized division K*bots. Compete each day to place in the finals on Friday when a champion for each division is crowned.
If you sign up for the all-day clinic, bring a lunch.

OUTDOOR RECREATION CAMPS
Junior Naturalist Day Camp
This day camp is full of nature, friendship, and fun. Each week has a different theme and will incorporate games, crafts, and enjoy hands-on activities all while learning about nature. Each week of day camp will feature different activities.
Archery Day Camp
Our archery camp is designed to help kids gain knowledge and experience in the sport of archery. Every camper will get the experience to be the next Robin Hood. Participants will spend the day learning basic skills and having fun putting their new skills to practice. Archery equipment will be provided.

Feathered Friends
Birds sing, hunt and soar this week as campers become honorary ornithologists (bird scientists).

AQUATIC CAMPS
Camp H2GO
In this all-day youth aquatic camp, participants will experience a variety of supervised interactive activities. Aquatic activities will include water safety, youth lifeguarding, stroke development, water polo, and artistic swimming. Participants may also experience field trips to neighboring pools, outdoor sports, self-development, team building, and creative activities. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted, easily tread water, and be comfortable in deep water. Proper swim attire, a change of clothes, sunscreen, a towel, lunch, water bottle, and plenty of snacks are required each day. At closing, a late pickup fee of $10 per 10 minutes is applied. Early registration is recommended as spaces fill quickly.

Campfire Kids
Campfire Kids is a state-licensed camp specially designed for children ages 3-5 years and held at Valley View Recreation Center.
Program is held 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday and is available during spring, summer and winter break.

TINY TOT ADVENTURERS
Tiny Tot Adventurers is designed for children 3 to 5-year-olds to participate in a variety of adventures. Activities may include arts and crafts, physical activities, interactive games, movies, and story time. Each camp theme will be provided to the parent/guardian prior to the start of camp. Participants must be at least 3 years old on or before the week for which they are registering, and toilet trained. This program will run 9:00am-3:00pm with early arrival and extended stay options available.

The Teen W.O.R.K. (Willing, optimistic, respectful, kind) junior leader program trains teens to become future recreation leaders and to provide assistance to our summer programs. Teen W.O.R.K. encourages self-confidence and develops communication and leadership skills.

Teen Travels
Looking for something unique and exciting to do this summer? Go where the action is with Teen Travels. Participants will develop self-confidence and positive decision-making skills while forging new friendships. The twist on this program is that it is all field trip based, sign up for whichever field trip sounds fun. They have an opportunity to learn about themselves while exploring their community and participating in fun activities. The program is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the summer, with hours varying. Space is limited.
Ages: 12-14
Registration
All registration and participation is subject to space availability. Parents must register in advance for each field trip. We will not take day of or week of registrations.
Payment
Payment in full is required on or before the Wednesday prior to each week the child is scheduled to participate. The Wednesday deadline time depends on the payment method you choose:
