The Henderson Police Volunteers program is affiliated with Volunteers in Police Service which is managed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police

The Volunteers fill gaps in the Henderson Police Department in program support, administration, and other roles within the Department thus freeing up the Police Officers to respond to calls for service, to have more time for enforcement, and other policing priorities. Members of the Henderson Police Volunteers create valuable ties between law enforcement and the citizens of the City of Henderson.

Application is open to all City of Henderson residents who are 21 years of age or older. The applicants will be fingerprinted and a background investigation will be conducted.

Volunteers will be under the direct supervision of the City of Henderson Police department. All activities undertaken by the volunteers will require prior approval from the Police Department. The volunteers will conform to the standards set by the Henderson Police Department in doing volunteer work in the community.
