Sewer Rehabilitation Project

Starting October 30, 2022, the City will be performing sewer rehabilitation work in the Upper Pittman Wash at Green Valley Parkway. This project is expected to last one month and includes the installation of new manholes and sewer lines. Unpaved trails between Green Valley Parkway and Valle Verde Drive will be closed for the duration of the project. The paved trails at the top of the wash will remain available for use.

Pittman Wash Annual Maintenance

To protect public infrastructure, private property, and the health and safety of citizens and visitors, annual maintenance is performed along the Pittman Wash to remove woody, invasive and noxious vegetation.

Work will take place October-March between Pecos Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard.

Pittman Wash Management Criteria


Before maintenance, the sewer manhole is blocked by vegetation.	After maintenance, the sewer manhole is cleared of vegetation making it accessible for routine/emergency maintenance.

Friends of Pittman Wash

The City of Henderson would like to recognize and thank the long standing efforts of the Friends of Pittman Wash. This organization has spent countless volunteer hours providing educational talks about natural history, geology, flora, and fauna; hosting events to remove invasive vegetation; and maintaining a walking trail system they developed with their volunteers. About Friends of Pittman of Wash

Pittman Wash Stakeholder Group

The City of Henderson has established a stakeholder group to help keep neighbors adjacent to the Pittman Wash informed about the maintenance programs being performed by the City’s Parks and Recreation, Utilities, and Public Works Departments.

The Stakeholder Group meets monthly and is comprised of one representative from most communities adjacent to the Wash between Pebble Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard. Participating representatives will share information from each meeting with their community.
