Mohawk Drive and Pueblo Place between Warm Springs Road and Lake Mead Parkway is a residential street. Homes front this corridor and the posted speed limit is 25 mph. Recent concerns have been raised about cut-through traffic and speeding.

The City of Henderson collected speed and volume data in December 2023 and found there is speeding on the roadway. The 85^th percentile speed ranges between 35 mph and 43 mph along the roadway. This meets minimum thresholds to apply traffic calming measures to improve safety and slow down traffic.

 TEMPORARY DIVERTER

After reviewing input from the public and community partners, the City of Henderson is moving forward with a traffic-calming measure for the Mohawk Drive and Pueblo Place Improvement Project. Starting April 1, a temporary closure will divert traffic at the curve to deter speeding and cut-through traffic. The testing period will last 60 days, during which data will be collected to inform future actions.
