RICHARD DERRICK RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP FROM BALDRIGE FOUNDATION

Henderson City Manager and Chief Executive Officer Richard Derrick is a recipient of the 2023 Award for Leadership Excellence by the Malcolm Baldrige Foundation.
Under Derrick’s leadership and guidance, the City has achieved many successes through data-driven decision-making that positively moves the City forward and enhances many of its amenities and services for the community.
The Baldrige Foundation’s mission is to support organizational performance excellence throughout the United States and the world. 


The City of Henderson operates under a Council-Manager form of government. Under this structure, the elected Mayor and City Council are responsible for all policy decisions affecting the city. The implementation of Council policies and the general administration of city operations are the responsibility of a professional city manager.

The City Manager is the chief administrative officer of the City, appointed by and directly responsible to the Mayor and Council.

The City Manager directs and supervises the administration of all departments, offices and agencies of the City; develops programs and policy alternatives for consideration by the City Council; and, represents the City in negotiations with other governmental representatives. The Public Information and Intergovernmental Relations functions reside within the City Manager's Office.
