Lisa Corrado, AICP serves as the City of Henderson’s Director of Community Development and Services ensuring high-quality development and service standards, as well as progressive long-term city planning. She brings nearly two decades of community development and stakeholder engagement experience to her post and oversees numerous divisions including: Current and Long Range Planning, Building and Fire Safety, Development Services, Neighborhood Services as well as Code Enforcement.

Lisa was promoted to Assistant Director of Community Development & Services in 2018 and has distinguished herself as a leader since joining the organization in 2006. She has vast experience and expertise across a variety of topics including land use, economic development, housing, health, and social equity. She previously led the Long Range Planning Division of the City, overseeing the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Henderson Strong, neighborhood plans, analytic services, regional collaboration, and community outreach. She also led the Neighborhood Services Division of Community Development, overseeing federal and state grant funding to construct and preserve affordable housing, prevent homelessness, and build neighborhood engagement. Lisa has held a variety of other positions at the City including, Redevelopment Project Manager, Interim Intergovernmental Relations Specialist, Senior Planner, and Principal Planner, and recently, Interim City Clerk. She also served as the Southern Nevada Strong (SNS) Project Manager overseeing the completion of the valley’s first federally-recognized Regional Plan which was unanimously adopted. Early on in her career, Lisa worked as an economic development consultant for a boutique economic analysis firm in downtown Seattle advising municipalities, counties, workforce councils and transit agencies in the Puget Sound region.

Lisa is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and holds BA degrees in Hispanic Languages & Literature and Political Science, as well as a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, PA. Recently, she completed a Professional Certificate in Personal Leadership from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.  

Lisa was recently recognized by the Nevada American Planning Association by earning their Professional Planner award.
