Boulder Highway - Revitalize, Reuse, Renew Program
What: In its ongoing commitment to revitalize the Boulder Highway Corridor, the City of Henderson is extending and expanding the implementation of the Boulder Highway - Revitalize, Reuse, Renew program, which provides Phase 1 and Phase 2 environmental site assessments at no cost to local property owners.
Why: As one of the most traveled roadways in the City of Henderson, the Boulder Highway Corridor has long been a key area for beautification, redevelopment, and enhanced economic opportunity.
Recently, the City of Henderson was awarded a Brownfield Community-Wide Assessment Grant through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), allowing the city to fund site research and perform environmental assessments on eligible properties in the area. These assessments, which are frequently mandated by financial institutions for lending and investment purposes, test individual properties for potential ground contamination; these tests then eliminate a critical hurdle to future sales and financing. The assessment process better positions property property owners to repurpose their property for a higher return on investment or market their vacant or underutilized properties more easily.
When: Grant funded activities of the Boulder Highway - Revitalize, Reuse, Renew program will continue through the spring of 2026.
Who & Where: Commercial property owners within the Boulder Highway - Revitalize, Reuse, Renew program area - an eight-mile segment of the Boulder Highway Corridor from Gibson Road/Broadbent Boulevard to Wagonwheel Drive.
