Citizen volunteers are one of our City's most valuable assets. By participating on local boards and commissions, they make an important contribution to our future by providing input and making recommendations on various programs and issues.

In accordance with applicable law, the City prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, national origin or ancestry, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, status as HIV positive, genetic information , or any other consideration protected by federal, state, or local laws.

The City of Henderson has established advisory boards and commissions comprised of volunteer citizens dedicated to shaping the future of Henderson. We invite you to consider the possibilities. In order to be considered for a board or commission appointment, please complete the Board and Commission Application. Please note, this is an electronic form, a valid email address is required. Attachments can be added electronically. After all appropriate signatures and documentation have been provided, click ‘submit application’; you will receive a confirmation email and appropriate City staff will receive a completed version of your submission. To view vacancies and current appointment information, please visit the City's Boards and Commissions portal.

When there is a board or commission member vacancy, the City Clerk's Office will verify candidate information on applications for the specific position. After verification, all information will be forwarded to the Mayor and City Council for consideration and appointment at a City Council meeting. Appointees will be notified by the City Clerk's office in writing and via telephone.

Public Comment or comments relating to agenda items may be submitted by Public Comment Card one hour before the start of the meeting. Comments can also be submitted via email to CityClerk@cityofhenderson.com or through Contact Henderson. Comments submitted after the deadline, must be presented in person at the meeting to be considered by the Board or Commission and included as part of the record.
