Henderson, Nev. – (January 18th, 2024) On January 17th, 2024, at approximately 5:30 P.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway in reference to a collision involving two vehicles and a motorcyclist.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black and blue GSX-R motorcycle was traveling westbound on Lake Mead Parkway approaching Boulder Highway at a high rate of speed. A silver Nissan SUV was traveling southbound on Boulder Highway, with a steady green light, entering the intersection of Lake Mead Parkway. In addition, a black Dodge pickup truck, was traveling southbound on Boulder Highway, with a steady green left turn signal, turning onto eastbound Lake Mead Parkway. The motorcyclist failed to obey the steady red signal and collided with the driver’s side of the silver Nissan. The driver of the Dodge claimed that their vehicle was also struck by debris from the incident.

The 21-year-old male motorcyclist was transported to a local area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The occupants of the Nissan were also transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Speed is considered a factor in this incident. Impairment being a contributing factor is currently unknown.

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.
