Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Targeting Impaired Drivers

Henderson, Nev. – (January 10, 2024) The Henderson Police Department concluded its 3rd campaign under the current Joining Forces Program. 
During the enforcement initiative that ran from December 16th, 2023, through January 3rd, Henderson Police stopped 236 motorists resulting in 226 citations.

Of the 236 traffic stops, Traffic Officers completed 5 arrests for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). 66 drivers were cited for speeding, 10 cited for distracted driving (such as cell phone use), as well as 150 citations issued for other various traffic related offenses.

Henderson Police Department received $196,000 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2024 Joining Forces program.
The grant provides funding for enhanced enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
