Henderson, Nev. – (January 8, 2024) On January 7, 2024, at approximately 12:00 P.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Sunset Road and Mountain Vista Street in reference to a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle rollover.

Preliminary investigation revealed a light blue 2005 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound on Mountain Vista Street in the northbound lanes, just north of Sunset Road.  The vehicle crossed over the center median, into a building which caused the vehicle to flip onto its roof, and finally came to rest in a parking lot of that intersection.

The 52-year-old driver was transported to Sunrise Trauma Hospital in serious condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Speed, impairment, or a medical episode are unknown factors in this incident at this time.

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The collision is being investigated as the first accident-related fatality for 2024.
