Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Targeting Pedestrian Safety

Henderson, Nev. – (November 1, 2023) The City of Henderson Police Department concluded its 1st campaign under the 2024 Joining Forces Program targeting pedestrian safety. 

During the enforcement initiative that ran from October 13th through October 31st, Henderson Police Officers made a total of 343 traffic stops. 

Of the 343 stops completed, Traffic Officers issued 235 citations for speeding, 22 distracted driving citations (such as cell phone use), and 110 other traffic related citations.  
 
The Henderson Police Department received $196,000 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2024 Joining Forces program.  

The grant provides funding for enhanced enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
