Henderson Police Investigating Pedestrian Fatality

Henderson, Nev. – (October 19th, 2023) On October 18th, 2023, at approximately 7:30 P.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of North Boulder Highway and Coogan Avenue in reference to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation revealed a blue GMC pickup was traveling northbound on North Boulder Highway when a 71-year-old male, while walking outside of the crosswalk entered the travel lane, was struck by the GMC. The driver of the GMC stopped and was cooperative with investigators. 

The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Trauma Hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Impairment and speed are not considered factors in this incident.

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The collision is being investigated as the tenth accident-related fatality for 2023.
