***UPDATE***Additional Suspect Arrested in Homicide Investigation

Henderson, Nev. – (October 4, 2023) In September 2023, Henderson Detectives identified 18-year-old Kyrel Coleman as a suspect.  

On September 18, 2023, an arrest warrant was approved for Coleman’s arrest for two (2) counts of Attempted Murder, seven (7) counts of Discharging a Firearm Where a Person May Be Injured, and one (1) count of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

On October 3, 2023, Coleman was taken into custody, thanks to a coordinated effort by Henderson PD Investigators, the FBI CAT team (HPD, LVMPD, FBI, NLVPD, Nevada Parole and Probation), with the assistance of Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina. 

Coleman was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center on the above charges, where he is currently pending extradition to Nevada.

This case has not been adjudicated; therefore, no further details will be released at this time.

Henderson Police Investigating Shooting Resulting in Death

Henderson, Nev. - (March 20, 2023) On March 19th, at approximately 1:00a.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the 1100 block of Center Street in reference to a report of multiple gunshots being heard within the area.

Preliminary investigation revealed multiple subjects were at the location for a party.  Multiple subjects were observed to be in possession of firearms.  Yelling was heard from within the crowd and gunfire erupted, striking two (2) victims.

Officers arrived on scene to discover 23-year-old male suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds and a 22-year-old male deceased at the scene.  

The 23-year-old male was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

There is no suspect information at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin. 

As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

This is being investigated as the second homicide for the City of Henderson for 2023.
