City of Henderson Invites Residents to Learn More and Provide Input on Reimagine Boulder Highway

Post Date:10/04/2023 9:03 AM
HENDERSON, Nev. (Oct. 4, 2023) – The City of Henderson is inviting residents to get information and provide input about the upcoming Reimagine Boulder Highway project, slated to begin next year.

There are two options for residents to get involved. The public is invited to an in-person meeting from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Valley View Recreation Center with a formal short presentation at 5:30 p.m. The City is also hosting an online public meeting where the public can view exhibits, renderings, maps and learn more anytime. Residents will also be able to submit questions or comments online.

Reimagine Boulder Highway aims to transform the 7.5-mile segment of Boulder Highway between Tulip Falls and Wagonwheel Drive to enhance the safety, accessibility and sustainability of the historic corridor.

Once completed, the Henderson portion of Boulder Highway will include separate center-running bus lanes and reduce the number of vehicle travel lanes to increase safety to all travelers. It will also save more than 46 million gallons of water annually by removing over 500,000 square feet of useless grass, and diseased and water-thirsty trees, and replacing the area with water-smart landscape.

The $120 million project is being funded with a federal grant, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and the City of Henderson. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2024 and be completed in early 2026.
