Henderson Police Investigating Pedestrian Fatality

Henderson, Nev. – (June 20th, 2023) On June 20th, 2023, at approximately 6:04 A.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Wellness Place and Stufflebeam Avenue in reference to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation revealed a white Dodge sedan was traveling eastbound on Wellness Place when a 71-year-old male, while walking in the crosswalk of the private property, was struck by the Dodge. The driver of the Dodge initially stopped but fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. 

The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Trauma Hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

Impairment and speed are unknown factors in this incident. 

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications. 

The collision is being investigated as the third accident-related fatality for 2023.
