City of Henderson to Host Field Of Honor Ceremony with Over 400 U.S. Flags on Display

WHAT:

The City of Henderson, along with Henderson Mayor and City Council, is hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony to honor the sacrifices of U.S. military service members at Cornerstone Park on Monday, May 29.

During the May 29th ceremony, Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero will provide remarks along with special guest Colonel Jerry A. Brown, a Congressional Legislative Liaison for the 63rd Readiness Division responsible for providing congressional and legislative support on behalf of the Chief, Army Reserve to Army Reserve commander of the 63rd Readiness Division.
 
Henderson Councilwoman Carrie Cox will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem will be performed by Henderson Police Lieutenant Benson Harper.

The Jack Schofield Cadet Squadron will provide a Presentation of Colors accompanied by the Emerald Isle Bagpipes who will also give a patriotic performance of Amazing Grace. Taps will be played by T.A.P.P.S. bugler Lance Phelps.

Coral Academy of Science students from the Cadence campus will recite the Gettysburg Address.

The ceremony will also include more than 400 displayed U.S. flags as a symbol of patriotism.

Field of Honor is an annual tradition hosted by the City of Henderson in partnership with the Rotary Club of Green Valley.
