Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Targeting Impaired Drivers

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department concluded its 6th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program. 
During the enforcement initiative that ran from February 4th through February 13th, 2021, Henderson Police stopped 369 motorists resulting in 445 citations.

Of the 369 traffic stops, Traffic Officers completed 15 arrests for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and assisted patrol with 7 DUI investigations. 102 drivers were cited for speeding, 16 cited for distracted driving (such as cell phone use), 9 cited for red light violations, 20 cited for no insurance, as well as several other citations issued for other traffic related offenses.

The Henderson Police Department received $220,000 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2021 Joining Forces program.  

The grant provides funding for enhanced enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
