Henderson, Nev. - (March 6, 2023) On March 2nd, at approximately 2:10a.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the 1700 block of Sebring Hills Drive in reference to an unknown problem.  It was advised shots had been fired at a subject inside the residence.

Preliminary investigation revealed the following:  An unknown male had broken into a residence whose elderly homeowner had passed away the week before.  The homeowner’s 61-year-old son responded to check on the residence, arriving to the location at the time of this incident.  When the son was checking the interior of the residence, he came upon an unknown male intruder which resulted in the son discharging his firearm at the male.

Officers arrived on scene to discover the 38-year-old male intruder deceased at the scene.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin.

As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

This is being investigated as the first homicide for the City of Henderson for 2023.
