HENDERSON, Nev. (March 02, 2023) – The City of Henderson is proud to host the 2023 Big West Basketball Championships for the second year at The Dollar Loan Center from March 7 through March 11.

The 2022 Big West Basketball Championships was the first-ever sporting event inside The Dollar Loan Center. The 2023 event pits 20 Big West men’s and women’s teams in action with the winners each claiming an automatic berth in the NCAA Championships the following week.

"The Big West Basketball Championships were our very first public event when The Dollar Loan Center opened last year and it’s just a fantastic venue for tournaments like this,” said Mayor Michelle Romero. “Henderson residents are huge sports fans, and we are thrilled to give another warm welcome to all the teams and fans this year. I invite everyone to join us for the best of college basketball and all that Henderson has to offer!"

Becoming the host city for the Big West Basketball Championships demonstrates the City’s ability to attract popular and significant events that benefit Henderson’s economy, give a boost to local businesses and provide additional entertainment opportunities to residents and nearby communities.

Since the development of The Dollar Loan Center, Henderson has become the home to three professional sports teams in addition to the Big West Basketball Championships, including the Henderson Silver Knights, Vegas Knighthawks and the NBA G-League Ignite.

“The Big West is excited to bring our NCAA women’s and men’s basketball championships back to The Dollar Loan Center March 7-11,” Big West Commissioner Dan Butterly said. “Our fans learned last year that Henderson is a great city with many exciting things happening and The Big West is proud to call Henderson OUR championship city.  We look forward to returning the hospitality Henderson has shown our teams and institutions.”
