WHAT:

The Henderson Fire Department is hosting a graduation ceremony to swear in 16 new firefighters from Henderson Fire Academy 52 on Thursday, December 8, at Sunset Station Hotel and Casino.

The graduating class went through 20 weeks of extensive training that included firefighting tactics, emergency medical services, hazardous material training and more to prepare them for a career as a Henderson Firefighter.

“This is an exciting time for our department as we are adding 16 highly-trained and qualified firefighters to respond to our community’s needs,” said Henderson Fire Chief Shawn White. “These new firefighters are joining a department comprised of dedicated personnel who remain committed to upholding our mission and values as one of the nation’s top fire agencies.”

Once sworn in, graduates will move into full-time firefighting positions throughout the department’s 12 fire stations, including the department’s newest fire station in the Cadence master-planned community, opening later this month.
