Henderson, Nev. – On January 29, 2021 at approximately 12:25 P.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire responded to Via Garda Drive and Roma Hills Drive in reference to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2016 Kenworth box truck was backing up out of the drive of the subdivision at the location with the assistance of a pedestrian.  While attempting to assist the backing of the box truck, the pedestrian, for reasons unknown, fell into the path of the backing vehicle.  The vehicle subsequently backed over the pedestrian, causing the pedestrian severe injuries.

The 60-year-old pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

It appears the incident to be accidental and impairment was not a factor.

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The collision is being investigated as the third accident-related fatality for 2021.
