Henderson, Nev. – On January 31st, at approximately 5:40 p.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the 1300 block of W. Sunset Road in reference to a stabbing incident involving an on-property security officer and a male subject.

Preliminary information revealed a male subject was observed concealing store merchandise on his person and proceeded to exit the business without paying for the merchandise.  The business’ 56-year-old security officer was alerted to the theft and attempted to retrieve the stolen merchandise from the male outside the business.  When confronted, the theft suspect brandished a knife.  The security officer then produced his own knife which resulted in the theft suspect being stabbed.
