Henderson, Nev. – (October 12, 2022) The City of Henderson Police Department received a $72,000.00 grant from the State of Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, in support of traffic safety through speeding enforcement campaigns during the coming year.

With the grant, the Henderson Police Department will be conducting directed speeding enforcement campaigns one Saturday a month for 10 months in an effort to reduce speed on Nevada’s roadways.  The speeding enforcement campaign will begin October 22, 2022, and concludes July 15, 2023.

According to Injury Facts, “Speeding was a factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2020, killing 11,258, or an average of over 30 people per day”. Speeding is more than just breaking the law; there are consequences for risky driving behavior.
