Henderson, Nev. – (August 25, 2022) The City of Henderson Police Department Explorer program is now accepting applications for the fall recruitment.

The Henderson Police Explorer Program is an educational program designed for students aged 16 to 20 with an avid interest in law enforcement.  Its mission is to offer young adults a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition, and other activities.  In addition, the program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship, and patriotism.

Applicants must be at least 16, but not yet 21 years of age, pass a background investigation, have written permission from a parent/guardian if under 18 years of age, and be of good moral character.

An Explorer Informational Orientation is being held Wednesday October 5th, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at HPD’s Central Area Command located at 300 S. Green Valley Parkway.  

This will be the opportunity for all interested individuals to gain further insight into HPD’s Explorer program and the commitment required of participants.

The deadline to confirm attendance for this orientation is Friday September 30th, 2022.
