Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Targeting Pedestrian Safety

Henderson, Nev. – (April 26, 2022) The City of Henderson Police Department concluded its 11th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program targeting pedestrian safety. 

During the enforcement initiative that ran from April 18th through April 25th, Henderson Police Officers made a total of 340 traffic stops. 

Of the 340 stops completed, Traffic Officers issued 233 citations for speeding, 2 pedestrian related citations, 4 distracted driving citations (such as cell phone use), and 76 other traffic related citations.  
 
The Henderson Police Department received $237,300 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2022 Joining Forces program.  

The grant provides funding for enhanced enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
