Henderson, Nev. – (March 9, 2022) On February 1, 2022, at approximately 8:16 A.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Warm Springs Road and Norlina Court in reference to a collision involving two vehicles, one of which had fled the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Warm Springs Road when it swerved into the adjacent lane striking a white 2017 Chevrolet SUV at their right rear side causing that driver to leave the roadway, and subsequently into the block wall of a residence at the 300 block of Norlina Court.

The truck and its driver fled the scene; however, both were located a short time later within the vicinity.

The driver was identified as 32-year-old Michael Panarella.

Panarella was placed into custody and transported to the Henderson Detention Center for the following charges:

1 count of DUI-1st Offense
1 count of Fail to Stop at the Scene of Accident
1 count of Driving with a Suspended License
1 count of Use/Possess Drug Paraphernalia
1 count of Possession of Drug not for Interstate Commerce

His booking photo is attached.

The driver of the SUV was transported to Saint Rose Siena Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

On March 1, 2022, Henderson Police Fatal Investigators were advised that the driver of the SUV succumbed to her injuries. Her name will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

Panarella’s charges are subject to amendment based on this updated information.

As this is still an open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The collision is being investigated as the third accident-related fatality for 2022.
