Post Date:03/08/2022
Henderson, Nev. – On March 7, 2022, at approximately 4:29A.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Saint Rose Parkway and Eastern Avenue in reference to a collision involving two vehicles.

Preliminary investigation revealed a red 2005 Jeep SUV was stopped for the red traffic signal at that intersection. A white 2010 Lexus coupe was traveling westbound Saint Rose Parkway approaching the same intersection when the Lexus rear-ended the Jeep.  The collision caused the Jeep’s fuel tank to catch fire and both vehicles were subsequently engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to Sunrise Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Impairment is not considered a factor, while speed is considered a factor in this incident.

Charges against the driver are pending additional investigation.

Traffic at the intersection was closed in all directions from the intersection of Saint Rose Parkway and Eastern Avenue for approximately 3 hours while the investigation was conducted.

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The collision is being investigated as the second accident-related fatality for 2022.
