Henderson Traffic Accident Updated as Fatality

Henderson, - Nev. The Henderson Police Department concluded its 4th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program.
During the enforcement initiative that ran from December 21st, 2020 through January 4th, 2021, Henderson Police stopped 111 motorists resulting in 60 citations.

Of the 111 traffic stops, Traffic Officers completed 1 arrest for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and assisted patrol with 3 DUI investigations. 37 drivers were cited for speeding, 2 cited for distracted driving (such as cell phone use), 1 cited for red light violations, 2 cited for no insurance, as well as several other citations issued for other traffic related offenses.

The Henderson Police Department received $220,000 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2021 Joining Forces program.

The grant provides funding for enhanced enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
