Henderson Police Investigating Fatal Traffic Collision Involving Pedestrian

Henderson, - Nev. On January 2, 2021, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire responded to southbound Boulder Highway at Major Avenue in reference to an auto-pedestrian collision.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2020 silver Volkswagen Golf was traveling southbound on Boulder Highway when it struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 27-year-old female, was transported to Henderson Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.

Impairment and speed are not considered to be factors in this incident.

Southbound Boulder Highway was closed for approximately an hour and a half while fatal accident investigators conducted their investigation.

The name of the pedestrian killed in the collision will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The crash is being investigated as the first accident-related fatality for 2021.
