Henderson, Nev. – Two unrelated fires started within minutes of each other at Henderson mobile home parks on Sunday night, injuring two residents and two firefighters and causing damage to multiple manufactured homes.

Henderson Fire was dispatched on Sunday, June 20 to King Street in Triple K Trailer Court at about 10:30 p.m. Firefighters contained the fire to one manufactured home and located an adult female inside. They extricated her through the window of the structure and transported her in critical condition to Sunrise Hospital. An adult male was also treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Henderson Fire was dispatched to a second, unrelated fire on Richardson Drive in Alta Vista Mobile Home Park at about 10:40 p.m. The fire spread quickly and required a four-alarm response with assistance provided by Clark County Fire. Eight manufactured homes and multiple vehicles were damaged by the fire and about 100 residents sheltered temporarily at CT Sewell Elementary School.

More than 100 firefighters and 35 apparatus responded to the four-alarm fire with a Henderson fire captain and a Clark County firefighter hospitalized overnight for non-life-threatening injuries. Henderson Police also assisted with safely evacuating residents and traffic control.

Power and water utilities at the Alta Vista Mobile Home Park are expected to be off for 24-36 hours. An emergency shelter has been set up at Heritage Park Senior Facility for displaced residents, with an emergency pet trailer available to those who want to shelter with their pets.

The cause of both fires is still under investigation.
