Henderson Seeks Artists to Bring Unique Appeal to Historic Water Street District

Post Date:06/16/2021

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson is calling on artists to participate in a beautification project that will highlight the story of the community through the design and fabrication of three-dimensional art sculptures to be display in the Water Street District of downtown Henderson. Submissions for the project are due June 21 through the Nevada Government eMarketplace (NGEM).

Visual artists who work in any physical medium may participate. Artists must live and/or work in Nevada, Arizona, California, Oregon, Utah, and Idaho. In addition, the call is open to individual artists, teams of two or more artists and art magnet schools.

A budget of $61,000 will be split among the artists or artist teams selected. Short-listed artists will receive a $200 payment for their design concepts and selected artists/artist teams will be awarded up to $20,000 per sculpture(s).

Artists will be determined by a selection committee made up of members of the Henderson Arts & Culture Council, the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, and representatives from the City of Henderson departments including Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Community Development & Services, and the Redevelopment Agency.
