Henderson, Nev. – (March 13th, 2024) The City of Henderson Police Department will begin the 6th Joining Forces traffic enforcement initiative targeting speeders from March 13th through March 29th, 2024.

During this time, Henderson Police will use officers dedicated to this initiative to complete saturation patrols throughout the Henderson area to stop speeding vehicles. These officers will target areas that are known for excessive speeds and areas that have received the most citizen complaints of speed violations.

According to the Nevada Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities”. Speeding is more than just breaking the law; there are consequences for risky driving behavior.

Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program aimed at reducing injuries and crashes through statewide enforcement of traffic safety laws. The goal is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving.

The Henderson Police Department received $196,00.00 in grant monies for the enhanced enforcement through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2024 Joining Forces program.
