Henderson, Nev. – (February 29th, 2024) On February 26th, 2024, at approximately 4:30 P.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Via Da Vinci Avenue and Rivoli Street in reference to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on a motorized scooter.  

Preliminary investigation revealed a gray SUV was traveling westbound on Via Da Vinci Avenue, west of Rivoli Street. The pedestrian was traveling southbound on a walking trail, just west of Rivoli Street. The pedestrian crossed Via Da Vinci Avenue, outside of a crosswalk, in front of the SUV, resulting in a collision.  

The 15-year-old female pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. 

Speed and impairment are not considered factors in this incident.  

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications. 

The collision is being investigated as the seventh accident-related fatality for 2024.
