Henderson, Nev. – (February 9th, 2024) On February 8th, 2024, at approximately 5:06 P.M., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of East Sunset Road and North Green Valley Parkway in reference to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcyclist.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound on East Sunset Road. A gold Toyota sedan was traveling on westbound Sunset Road in the center turn lane. The Toyota failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic, turning left directly into the path of the motorcyclist, causing the collision.

The 54-year-old male motorcyclist was transported to a local area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Speed and impairment are not considered factors in this incident.

As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The collision is being investigated as the sixth accident-related fatality for 2024.
