***UPDATE*** Suspect Arrested in Homicide Investigation

Henderson, Nev. – (November 27, 2023) Henderson Detectives identified the suspect as 43-year-old Freddie Wright.  

On November 27th, 2023, Wright was taken into custody by the Criminal Apprehension Team and booked into the Henderson Detention Center on the following charges:

1 count of Open Murder
1 count of Arson, 1st Degree
1 count of Destroying Evidence

The Criminal Apprehension Team is a multi-jurisdictional task force led by the FBI and staffed in the LVMPD’s Major Violators Bureau. It is comprised of FBI, HPD, LVMPD, NLVPD, and Nevada Department of Parole and Probation officers.

Henderson Police Investigating Homicide

Henderson, Nev. - (November 22, 2023) On November 21st, at approximately 7:57p.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the 1700 block of Sunset Road in reference to a fire incident.

Fire personnel were called to the scene to extinguish a fire contained within a metal drum.  Once the fire was out, a deceased female was located inside the drum.

Henderson Detectives assumed the investigation.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin. 

As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

This is being investigated as the twelfth homicide for the City of Henderson for 2023.
