Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Targeting Distracted Drivers

Henderson, Nev. – (April 21, 2023) The City of Henderson Police Department concluded its 7th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program targeting distracted drivers.

During the enforcement initiative that ran from April 3rd through April 20th, Henderson Police Officers made a total of 422 traffic stops. 

Of the 422 stops completed, Traffic Officers issued 203 citations for speeding, 63 distracted driving citations (such as cell phone use), two seat belt violations, and 61 other traffic related citations.  
 
The Henderson Police Department received $231,300 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2023 Joining Forces program.  

The grant provides funding for enhanced enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
