The City was awarded Gold Certification in the LEED for Cities and Communities
rating system—an international symbol of excellence recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED for Cities and Communities helps local leaders measure and manage progress in community conditions, in pursuit of a more sustainable, resilient and equitable future. Through the certification program, cities and communities create and operationalize responsible, sustainable, and specific plans for natural systems, energy, water, waste, transportation, and many other factors that contribute to quality of life.
What you can do:
- The City’s Building code has sustainable building codes for Water Conservation and Efficiency and Energy Efficiency.
- C-PACE is designed to help qualifying commercial, industrial, and multifamily (with five or more units) property owners access long-term financing for the installation of qualifying energy efficiency, water efficiency, renewable energy, and resiliency projects.
- C-PACE is also available to commercial real estate developers who design and construct new buildings.
