Silver Sidewinders Robotics Club Excels in 2023-2024 Season
		Under the expert guidance of Coaches Maile, Jason, and Brent, the Silver Sands Montessori Charter School team participated in Southern Nevada's First Lego League Challenge, where they not only won the prestigious Best in Show award but also secured first place in Robot Design on December 17, 2023. Their remarkable performance propelled them to the State championship held at SECTA on January 27, 2024, where they competed against 40 other local schools and proudly placed in the top ten! We commend their hard work, dedication, and passion for robotics, which led to this impressive accomplishment. We are looking forward to seeing great things from them next year!

Foothill High School Teacher Wins National Award
		Joseph Kielminski was presented with the 2024 National Milken Educator Award by Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo. The National Milken Educator Award recognizes the work of specific teachers as a model for the rest of the state and the country. The prestigious honor will be awarded at up to 75 schools across the country this year. Mr. Kielminski is one of two NV teachers to receive the award this year.

Walker's Robotics 4th & 5th Grade Teams Shine at State Championship
		J. Marlan Walker Elementary School's 4th Grade Robotics Team advances to the World Competition! These robotic superstars have earned the Excellence Award and have been titled Nevada State Champions! The 5th Grade Robotics Team did a fantastic job as well, earning the Inspire Award at the State Championship.

Cadence Show Choir Takes Hawaii by Melody for National Veterans Day Parade
		The Cadence Show Choir received a special invitation to participate in the National Veterans Day parade in Honolulu, HI. They were privileged to deliver a tribute performance at the USS Missouri and unite with choirs from all over the United States on Friday, March 29, 2024, to sing 'America the Beautiful' and 'The Star-Spangled Banner' during the opening ceremonies of the parade. This event serves as a heartfelt tribute to veterans worldwide.

Foothill Varsity Dance Team Takes Home the Gold
		On February 4th, the Foothill Varsity Dance Team made program history by taking first place in the Medium Varsity Hip Hop Division at the Universal Dance Association, National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Florida. The team has participated in the competition since 2009, consistently showing promise, receiving multiple medals, and even placing in the Top 3 several times. All the hard work and dedication they put into perfecting this routine earned them the coveted gold medal and white satin jacket.

Check Out Brown Academy's Media Production Team at Work
		The Media Production class at B. Mahlon Brown Academy of International Studies has been working diligently! Through this class, these students have developed skills such as copy writing, video editing, and filming. Students apply fundamentals of photography, film, video, audio production, and interactive media by participating in hands-on group projects.

B. Mahlon Brown Academy of International Studies Gives Back
		The B. Mahlon Brown Academy of International Studies Student Council organized a schoolwide service project benefiting Street Dogz, a local organization aiding homeless individuals and their animals. Through their efforts, the group collected over 500 items to donate to Street Dogz. Shout out to these community champions!

CHS Theater Students Score Superior
		Coronado High School's theater students received superior scores in three categories at Regionals hosted by the Nevada Thespians! This success comes on the heels of Coronado HS’s spring musical, Mamma Mia, making State last year. Way to go!
