Professional Biography:

Robert Herr was named Assistant City Manager for the city of Henderson in July 2018.  He previously served as the City of Henderson’s Director of Public Works, Parks and Recreation since October 2015 where he managed several city functions including engineering, facilities management, park planning and maintenance, quality control, recreation programming, support services, survey/right-of-way and traffic services.

Prior to that, Robert served as Public Works Assistant Director from June 2006 to October 2015. He started with the city in March 2003 as the city traffic engineer working on major transportation projects and engineering design.

Robert has served on the Executive Advisory Committee of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, the Technical Advisory Committee of the Regional Flood Control District, and the Clark County School District Bond Oversight Committee. 

In 2017, Robert was named as American City and County’s Public Works Official of the Year. Under his leadership, the city was also named in 2015 as one of the 100 Best Fleets in America by the National Association of Fleet Administrators. Additionally, the city’s Heritage Park Senior Facility and Aquatics Complex was recognized by the Building Owners and Managers Association as the Government Building of the Year in 2015.

Prior to joining the City of Henderson, Robert worked for Clark County, Nevada, from 1996 until 2003 as the principal civil engineer. Before working for local governments, he worked in the private sector for engineering firms.

Robert graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in civil engineering in 1989.
