    City of Henderson Outdoor Recreation offers a variety of classes, outdoor adventures and special events to help you get outside to play, learn, and explore. Put on your favorite pair of active shoes to go visit our trailsBird Viewing Preserve, and parks with open grass areas, playgrounds, dog parks, skate parks, and splash pads, lighted sports areas, and more.

    Cardboard Boat Regatta

     Cardboard boat regatta



    The Cardboard Boat Regatta challenges amateur boat builders to design, build and navigate boats made entirely of cardboard and duct tape. The Regatta is open to individuals and groups desiring to build a boat. $5 per boat. All ‘crew members’ attend for free. Those attending open swim, but not participating in the boat race will require Daily Admission.

    Check-in will begin at 3:30pm and boat races will begin at 4:30pm. World-famous Rubber Duck race raffle will be held at 5:15pm.  $1 admission fee to enter in the raffle. Awards will be given for the following:

    “The Allure of the Seas” – Best Looking Boat

    “The Staten Island Ferry” – Boat Carrying the Most People

    “The World Is Not Enough” – World’s Fastest Yacht

    “The Titanic” – Best Sinking Ship

    “The Golden Duck” – Best All-Around Boat

    Ages 8+ ◾ $5 per boat. Daily admission for all others
