The City of Henderson garage sales are a great opportunity to clean out your closet! Sell any of your unwanted clothing, books, toys or other items.

Shoppers! If you love thrifting, these events are for you. Come shop from your community, you may even find some hidden treasures. All ages are welcome to shop, bring your friends and family with you. Admission is free.

Registration for a booth is first come, first served. Registration may close a week before the event date.

Community Day of Service 2024

Join us for a Community Day of Service on Sept. 7 at Cornerstone Park!

We are partnering with Just Serve NV to put on a day full of events such as blood drive with American Red Cross, crafty projects like sewing and card making, physical trail clean-ups, book repair and more.

Don't miss out on a complimentary breakfast to kick the morning off at 8am.

Spread the Word Nevada Book Cleaning

Description  Make a child feel special by beautifying and preparing the 60,000 books Spread the Word Nevada distributes every month to low-income schools.
Special Instructions Wear closed-toe shoes.
 Needs 35 people to volunteer.

 

Making Sleeping Mats for St. Timothy's Homeless Closet

Description  A downtown Las Vegas homeless shelter that houses 700 residents, 500 of those are children. We are asking for donations of new or gently used children’s shoes, new underwear, new socks. Boy’s items are especially needed as there are 100 more boys than girls.

YOUTH PROJECT: Variety Show at Henderson Senior Centers

Location You will be contacted with your assigned location
Description  Youth and families will provide a variety show at local senior centers, assisted living centers, or nursing home. Acts could include singing, instrumental performances, dance, comedy, magic, etc. The performance will conclude with a sing-a-long with the residents.
Special Instructions Microphone and stand, piano or electronic keyboard will be provided, if needed. Performers are to provide their own instruments.

YOUTH PROJECT: Recording Seniors' Personal History

Description  Youth will pair up with a senior at their assisted living facility to ask questions and record a brief history to give to the senior and their family upon completion.
Special Instructions Youth will need to bring their own laptop. They will be given an electronic template of basic life-history questions ahead of time to enter in the answers from the seniors they are paired with. Completed histories will be printed and shared with the resident along with a digital copy that can be shared with family members.
 Needs Laptops should be charged ahead of time and/or a charging cord brought with them. Volunteer will need typing skills.
