Hiking Series

Enjoy the great outdoors by taking a hike with the City of Henderson. Hikes vary in length and are a great way to get in shape while exploring the amazing trails in your community. Put on your favorite pair of athletic shoes, grab your water bottle, and hit the trails this fall! Please remember to dress for the weather. Youth (under 18 years) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration is required for these activities.

Trash Collector's Family Hike

Enjoy spending time together as a family along the St. Rose Parkway Trail. Trash bags will be provided to pick up litter along the trail.

What to wear/bring:

  • Closed-toe shoes, hat, sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Pack water and snacks

Mt Charleston Hike

Finish off Great Outdoors month with a hike on Mt. Charleston. We will be leading a hike on the Fletcher Canyon trail near the Mt, Charleston Visitor Center. This is an easy 3.6 mile out and back hike.  Price includes round-trip transportation. Depart at 9:00am from DRC, arrive at Fletcher Canyon trailhead at 10am. We will hike and then have time to explore the visitors center. We recommend packing a lunch, water, tennis shoes, hat, and sunscreen.   Depart the visitor center at noon, Arrive at DRC at 1pm

What to wear/bring:

  • Wear closed-toe shoes, a hat, and sunglasses
  • Pack sunscreen, 2 liters of water, and a lunch

Location: Roundtrip transportation is provided from Downtown Recreation Center.

REGISTER 

Meteor Shower Night Hike

Experience the McCullough Hills Trail in the dark. We will meet at Anthem Hills Trailhead and take a walk on Anthem East trail to McCullough hills trail. We will spend some time on the top of the mountain looking out for meteor showers. Registration includes water and a midnight snack. Wear closed toed shoes and bring water. We will have flashlights available.

  • Water
