Have you always wanted to learn how to garden and tend to your own plants? The City of Henderson offers several opportunities for all gardeners and plant enthusiasts at Pumpkin Park, Henderson's 71st park and 1st community garden, and the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve. 

Summer Planting

Planting in the desert heat can be tricky. You will get an opportunity to meet Garden Farms staff and learn tips and tricks. It's recommended to wear a hat, tennis shoes, and sunscreen. Class registration is free.

Location: Pumpkin Park

*$6 per for supplies is due upon arrival. Seeds, additional gardening supplies, and plants will be for sale.

Pumpkin Garden Interest List

Do you enjoy gardening but don’t have the space? The NEW Pumpkin Park is your answer. There will be 31 planting beds available soon, on a first-come, first served basis, ranging in cost from $60–$120 per year. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the beds. However, support will be offered from our partner, Garden Farms, to help you succeed in growing your fruits and vegetables. This secure garden facility includes elevated and irrigated planting beds and a water station. Limited space is available, signing up for the waiting list is optional, and we will contact you when the garden is ready to grow!
