The annual Henderson tradition returns for a variety of family-friendly activities, holiday entertainment, live music and the Water Street of Lights—a festive illumination of holiday décor along historic Water Street District.

Join us for the annual tree-lighting ceremony on December 2 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and don't miss our Winterfest Live! concert series on December 4, 11 and 18.

Hungry? Thirsty? Every Thursday in December from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., work your way down Water Street while enjoying specially priced festive food and beverage offerings during the "Holiday Hop" Happy Hour!

Take in the sights and sounds of the season while experiencing all that Water Street has to offer. 

PARKING NOTICE: Guests attending Winterfest activities are encouraged to use the Water Street Parking Garage (235 S. Water St., located directly across the street from Water Street Plaza). The public parking lot on Basic Road will be closed.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

December 2 at 6 p.m. | Water Street Plaza

The official kick-off to Winterfest and the holiday season in Henderson!

Join Mayor March, City Council and other special guests for our annual tree lighting ceremony on Water Street Plaza. Local choir groups will provide a merry soundtrack to the evening's festivities as we await the lighting of our 25 foot tall Christmas tree.

Free hot chocolate and popcorn for the first 100 people in attendance. Kids can participate in "Reindeer Games" activities for fun giveaways!

Kringle's Kids Night Out (SOLD OUT)

December 3 at 6 p.m. | Water Street Plaza

Ho ho ho! Get your lists, and check it twice. Children ages 5-13 can join us for a night of fun, crafts, cookies, pizza, stories, games, and more! 

Claus' Cookie Crawl (SOLD OUT)

December 4 at 3 p.m. | Water Street Plaza

Parents and their children are invited to take a stroll down Water Street while enjoying five cookie stops along the way. Cookies will be baked to perfection and packaged with love by Chef Fleming's Bakeshop.

Holiday On Broadway (Winterfest Live!)

December 4 at 7 p.m. | Water Street Plaza Amphitheater

Opera Las Vegas performs classic renditions of holiday favorites with flair during their "Holiday On Broadway" celebration.

"Arthur Christmas" Movie Night

December 9 at 5:30 p.m. | Water Street Plaza

Bring your own chairs, blankets, and movie treats to enjoy a family night out watching "Arthur Christmas" on the plaza's 42-foot wide digital screen. The animated film tells the story of Santa's youngest son, Arthur, as he embarks on a magical adventure to save Christmas. "Arthur Christmas" features the voices of James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Bill Nighy and other famous stars.

Meet the "big man" himself, and get a picture to capture the moment!

Santa will visit Water Street to spread holiday cheer with photos and a crafty frame! Kids ages 5-13 and their families can take a photo with Santa and design their own photo frame. Register today!

Children’s Holiday Performance Showcase

Holiday Ornament Walk

December 11 at 10 a.m. | Water Street Plaza

Families can build their own holiday ornament as they stroll through the plaza to several decorating stations where families can build their own ornament and piece together parts of a story. 

Kids ages 3-7 will be able to register for the 10 a.m. to noon time slot, and kids ages 8-14 will be able to register for the noon to 2 p.m. slot. Register today!

 

The Barefoot Movement (Winterfest Live!)

December 11 at 7 p.m. | Water Street Plaza Amphitheater

Nashville-based Barefoot Movement put their signature bluegrass twist on holiday classics. You’ll hear acoustic renditions of seasonal favorites such as Chuck Berry’s "Run Run Rudolph" and emotional takes on tender standards like "Oh Holy Night." All ages are welcome. Get Tickets!

 "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" Movie Night

December 16 at 5:30 p.m. | Water Street Plaza

Bring your own chairs, blankets, and movie treats to enjoy a family night out watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" on the plaza's 42-foot wide digital screen. Based on Dr. Seuss' 1957 book, the award-winning, live action adaption stars Jim Carrey as the Grinch along with a star-studded cast. Free to attend—no registration required.

 

Positively Arts Holiday Showcase

December 17 at 7 p.m. | Water Street Plaza Amphitheater

The students of Positively Arts visit the Water Street Plaza Amphitheater will performing some of the greatest holiday hits of all time in this special concert. Free to attend—no registration required.

Positively Arts is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that empowers kids for life utilizing the tools of artistic discovery and performance in community to fortify students’ social and emotional development and resilience. Their mission is to provide positive outlets for self-expression through which kids can build the confidence and resilience they need to excel in every aspect of their lives.
