Safekey is a before- and after-school recreational enrichment program held at all Henderson elementary schools. This fun-filled program focuses on crafts, games and special activities as an alternative while parents work. The program offers a variety of stimulating activities designed to help your child grow socially, emotionally and physically, as well as homework time and a snack. Safekey provides milk by way of the USDA Special Milk Program through a grant from the Nevada Department of Education.
Registration for programs consist of two parts: participant information forms and payment. Parents are required to complete new forms each school year and pay any applicable annual registration fees associated with your selected program prior to registering and attending. Once paperwork has been completed and submitted electronically by the parent/guardian and processed by the Parks and Recreation Department, an annual registration charge of $10 is placed on your City of Henderson account.
Parents can initiate registration or contact one of our recreation facilities to request an email link.
All forms are sent and submitted electronically via DocuSign. Parents will have an opportunity to include an additional parent/guardian if desired. Please note that if an additional household is included, the registration form cannot be processed until both parties have signed and completed all paperwork. Only one registration packet will be accepted per participant.
Safekey follows the Clark County School District calendar and is offered 6:45am-7:00am to 8:45am-9:00am, and from school dismissal to 6:00pm.
Program start and end times vary based on school bell times. Contact the Youth Enrichment office in advance for more information or to confirm start/end times. School bell times are set by the Clark County School District and are subject to change at the district’s discretion.
